We believe that photojournalism is a powerful tool for telling compelling social, political and cultural stories. We also understand that creating and managing world-class photography assignments requires time, freedom, support and considerable resources.

A note about student grants; this aspect of our grant program is evolving in 2011. Please note that the May 1 entry deadline is for professional photojournalists only.

We congratulate all of our recipients on the powerful and insightful work they created through our grants program, and thank our distinguished judges for elevating our competition.
