Журнал KulturSPIEGEL ищет идеи, которые станут ответом на вопрос: как наилучшим образом сформировать общественное пространство, в котором мы все взаимодействуем? Как социальный дизайн может улучшить городскую среду? Участвовать могут любые проекты, начиная от простой бутылки или пункта приема жестяных банок до мобильных грядок. Приз жюри и приз зрительских симпатий составляет €2500.

Mobile buildings, wheelchair ramps made with 3-D printers, vegetable gardens for everyone -- KulturSPIEGEL, DER SPIEGEL’s monthly culture supplement, is currently preparing an issue in which we will present exciting and trend-setting social design projects. But that’s not all: KulturSPIEGEL and SPIEGEL ONLINE are organizing the first Orange Social Design Award. We are looking for new designs that improve life in the city. The objects should be reproducible and provide an answer to the following question: How can we best shape the public space in which we live together? The award honors ideas and concepts from the area of social design that make the urban environment a better place for everyone. This can include everything from bottle and can deposit collection systems and exchange stations, to mobile raised garden beds. We are looking for objects that provide an answer to the following question: How should we shape the public space of the future? We are looking for clever designs with a positive impact on city life.

You have until August 31, 2014 to submit your social design entries that will help make the urban environment a better place for everyone. We will publish the shortlist on this website on September 29, 2014. The winners will be announced on October 27, 2014.
